This weekend in Kansas was nice. It was an 8-hour drive each direction, but Alison really helped out by driving half of each way. For lunch Sunday we had black angus t-bone steaks from Alison's grandfather's ranch (talk about fresh.) Sunday night we cooked Chicken Cordon Bleu and Green Beans Amandine for Alison's grandparents. The reunion was relatively short at 2 hours, but since we were in Kansas from Friday night until Monday morning, I got a good chance to get to know the grandparents.
On a side note, my boss just sent this e-mail out to a guy in the company in technology:
Lawson was able to log into the system to use the CBT; however, he was unusable because of slowness.
She apologized profusely. :-)

Like what seems to be the majority of americans, I'm going to be going out of town on Labor Day weekend. Alison and I are going to Oswego, Kansas to attend a family reunion for Alison's grandparents' family. We were planning on leaving at 5 (after I get off work) and then driving until we got sleepy... then getting a hotel and finishing the drive the next morning. My boss is letting us leave early, so we'll be able to leave on our trip at 2:00 (meaning we can make it there sometime between 9:00pm and 10:00pm instead of 12:00pm - 1:00am.) By letting us go early, my boss saved us the expense of a hotel room on our trip. Alison's grandparents have a guest house that they're letting us use (exclusively) during the weekend while we're there, which is awesome (and free too.) We'll be heading back sometime Monday. :-)
