Not wanting to be left out of the computer camaraderie, my iMac decided that like the other two computers (the web server and my wife's computer) it too wanted to die. So, the power supply decided to end it all. To add insult to injury, while I was troubleshooting with the case off, I noticed that three of the capacitors had bowed tops, and one of them had corrosive material dried to the top of it.

You might remember, but this happened to me once before. Apple replaced the logic board at no cost to me. I wonder if they'll do it again... I know the logic board and power supply are pretty much unrelated to the hard drive, but I still have some comfort in knowing that Time Machine backed up all of my data. :-)

The screen on my Pocket PC died last weekend. Luckily it was just the touch recognition that died, so I was able to connect to it and copy all of my files to a safe place. Now that I've had to go without it for a few days, I have realized how much I depend on it. That was my third Pocket PC, but it was the first one that I used on a daily basis (for about the past 3 years.) I've ordered the new one from Dell and it should be arriving this week... In case you're interested in that kind of stuff, I'm getting the Axim X51v (the "v" stands for VGA.) It's definitely an upgrade to the old one, and I can't wait to use my calendar program (Pocket Informant) in high res. :-)

Work has been really fun since I've been back. I'm getting to manipulate multiple databases and write code in a proprietary scripting language... the kind of stuff that I enjoy. It's difficult enough to be somewhat of a challenge, but not so daunting as to make me give up. Have I mentioned I love my job?

Alison and I have gotten lists of different responsibilities for planning a wedding, and we'll be going through all of that very soon. As it stands right now, we want the wedding to be Saturday, June 3rd. All of that really depends of on the availability of the church and the minister, of course. I'll keep you updated.
